We had a pretty pathetic day at Borth today. Until this morning the forecasts were looking good for today so everyone was excited and expecting to be out sailing on small kit, but when I checked the forecast this morning the winds were only forecast to be Force 3-4. So, I went to work in the morning and got to the beach at around 11am. Steve was already there and ready rigged with a 6.2m sail, but there just wasn't enough wind. It did pick up a little at one point so Richard and I rigged also and Steve went out with his 7m sail. There still wasn't enough wind though and Steve ended up getting munched in the shorebreak, snapping his mast and ripping the luff tube of his sail. Mike and Derek went kite-surfing and I should have joined them really but coldn't be bothered to set my kite up and pack away my windsurfing kit. Richard, Steve and I all had another go at windsurfing a little later on with 6.3m sails, and although I managed to get planing and in the straps once for a few seconds it was generally a pretty poor day.
